My Easy Homemade Pandesal Recipe

“Paaaaaan….deeeeeeeeee….saaaaaaaaaal!” One of my fondest memories as a child is hearing this loud chant from the man who sold fresh bread rolls in our neighborhood just when everybody was waking up in the morning. It’s comforting, homely and–to almost all of us–undeniably delicious. That soft and fluffy bread you can eat with or without jam […]

Mommified and Loving It

Before I was Supermom, it took me the average of 15 minutes to get ready to leave the house for work. From grooming, to having breakfast, getting my stuff ready, wearing my pair of kikay heels, before I actually step out of the house. As i get ready to drive off, I start putting on […]

A Cry in the Dark: A Movie Review

Writing a particular news story about Australia’s longest running ‘whodunnit’ case, my interest was steered. The sensitivity of the story made me so engrossed, that I couldn’t help but dig deeper and follow through the entire sequence of the event that divided a nation and for a long period in the early 80’s made one […]

Mamma Mia: A Movie Review

Oh, my… Mamma Mia!… Loved this film. Its story plot is very typical yet it perfectly captures the joy of the free-lovin 70’s and the gorgeous Greek Isle’s that became the symbol of a generation devoted to freedom, beauty and love.  It’s the ultimate “feel-good” movie that I have ever seen so far. And why not? […]

We made it, Cassey!

I could have not enjoyed it as much as I did seeing it on film perhaps rather than on theatre, two “S” distinguished it from the stage… the perfect “setting” of the movie and “Streep” being on it. Investing a cliff-top rendition of The Winner Takes It All with far more solemnity than should be possible for such song, set on the captivating backdrop of the blue seas of Greece… such uplifting, a little tear-jerking but sure-fire stirring movie experience! It simply takes it all!

The Upside of Being the 3rd Mice

“It’s the second mice that gets the cheese.” So they say. This piece is about the third mice, though. The third mice stood behind watching the first one get caught on the mouse trap and the 2nd feast on the cheese. Hesitation has its advantages as well. You can be bold and daring, or such […]

Give it a Shot!

Facing the real Issue Of all the viruses out there waiting to attack us, perhaps none could strike more fear among us, women, especially, than those that infect our most private areas – the vulnerable, physical parts so inherent to our idea of femininity. Perhaps, no one knows how many sleepless nights can be laid […]
